Scott Silsdor, Treasurer

Scott joined Old Dominion University as the Director of Transportation and Parking Services in June 2013. He is responsible for leading a staff of nearly 100 employees to provide multimodal transportation options and parking in one of ODU’s 7,500 parking spaces located in five structures and over 30 surface parking lots. Transportation services are operated in-house with 10 Monarch Transit vehicles operating over 19 hours per day. Scott is passionate about using technology and innovation to increase efficiency and improve customer service, and is excited about the future opportunities in an evolving parking and mobility industry.

Prior to joining ODU, Scott worked for over ten years as a transportation planner for Parsons Brinckerhoff (now WSP) in Boston, MA and Norfolk, VA. His work included large transportation infrastructure investments throughout the northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Scott is a five-year Navy veteran, having served as a Surface Warfare Officer aboard the USS Gridley (CG-21) and USS John Young (DD-973) in San Diego, CA. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia, and a joint Master of Science in Engineering and Master of City and Regional Planning Degree (Transportation Planning) from the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA.
